Gasholders London

The Gasholders are a recently completed development of 145 apartments set within a triplet of listed gasholder guide frames in Kings Cross London, designed by Wilkinson Eyre Architects with integrated lighting by Speirs+Major.  Themes include the experience of looking up through the atria as well as diurnal change, emphasising the theme of time which is incorporated into the architecture.

Externally the photographs show how the lit image of the Gasholders is meticulously composed to reveal the beauty of the heritage framework, while exercising extreme optical control to avoid light spill on to the façade of the residential buildings within.
